Opening Prayer

Jesus, you are the living word.

Jesus, live within me now.

Word of God take flesh, live now.

Help me discover the many ways

you want to speak to me.

Come Lord Jesus, living word of God.

Jesus, I choose to listen. 

Whisper your name in my heart now.

Jesus, living word of life, speak to me.

Help me delight in your promises

and savor your name.

Let my heart leap at the sound of

your voice within me.

I pray that my life will echo your

praises, Jesus, living word.

Amen.

Meeting Jesus:  Word of God made flesh for us

Prayer Activity

Look at the drawing of Scriptural names for Jesus until one catches your eye.

Repeat that name slowly as a prayer until it echoes with meaning.  Add the name "Jesus" to your prayer - interspersing it with the first name you selected.

Finish by thanking God for being with you.
